Kotak Mahindra and Axis Bank have said they plan to hire 2,000 fresh graduates, each. The recruitment drive from the two private banking giants will hire 5,000 freshers in a total. The banks will hire across tech and design and will largely focus on these two skills. Design and tech jobs for freshers have seen the highest number of offers in corporate hiring this year.
Economic Times reported that design skills, which were not a focus area for banking companies earlier, have seen a rise in demand. Kotak Mahindra group’s chief human resource officer Sukhjit Singh Pasricha said “around 60% of fresh graduates are generally absorbed in frontline acquisition roles, 20% in service roles, 15% in our in-house contact center and the rest are hired by operations and various other roles across segments.”
Jobs for design roles like graphic or web design have more vacancies than before, especially in the banking sector.
Axis Bank has said they’re looking at 2,300 fresh grad hires, with 2,000 for entry-level roles, more than 200 from B-schools, and almost 100 from IITs and NITs. The HR head of the 5th largest bank in India said “this year, we have also focused on hiring in risk, compliance, and cyber-security roles,” said Rajkamal Vempati, HR head, Axis Bank. He added that like last year, IT and analytics remained a focus area.
