The roles and responsibilities of the Sr. Technical Editor/ Scientific Editing Lead include the following:
Guiding/Managing a team of proof-readers, responsible to fulfill proofreading requirements
Proofread and identify gross errors in complex and critical deliverables as per project requirements and brand guidelines
Assist the PMs with project planning for proofing tasks, providing effort estimates, identifying and flagging risks, providing domain-specific suctioning, etc.
Suggest typesetting solutions to the content/creative team, when necessary
Responsible to improvise processes and procedures for deliverables; Has an overview of production and review processes, both print and digital, and thus is able to expect errors and issues and accordingly develop proofreading cases and scope to cover, identify and clean the deliverables of any issues
Review the team's tasks for adherence to quality metrics and checklist
Review assignments/tasks for data integrity, typos, US/UK spellings, punctuation and sensible line breaks
Responsible to drive and maintain quality standards for various client deliverables across the team
Responsible to educate the team (both existing and new members) on maintaining confidentiality and copyright rules for various deliverables as per clients and company norms
Graduates/postgraduates (Life Sciences Graduate or PG, or English Literature Graduate or PG)
4-10 years of experience in proofreading/typesetting as well as basic copy editing
Familiar in working with PDFs and digital content online
Preferred if handled entire projects independently; also, candidates with mentoring/team leading experience preferred
Education-BSC/MSc/M.tech/MA any life science graduates.
