From a Business standpoint too, doing this can give you better insights of your functions. To ensure that you make your watch objective, you can work with each member of your team to create their KRAs and KPIs. This will also give them clarity of direction in which they need to accelerate and meet their goals.
The true sign of a leader is not only in his/her ability to build confidence in every team member for succeeding, but also in rebuilding it in them after the phases of failure. If someone in your team made a mistake, and they take ownership of the task, it is likely that they will lose their confidence for at least a period of time.
Most of the startups today fail not due to their inability to succeed, but their inability to endure failure and learn from it. As a leader, it becomes your duty to interact with them, understand the cause, identify the roots, and rectify them for future. This is the period when intervention is needed at all levels, especially from the leaders. What is considered micro management, in turn becomes interim confidence building exercise.
